Questions & AnswersFrequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before you book.
How does mobile service work?
You book online or call us. Your mechanic comes to your home or workplace, diagnoses the issue on-site, explains what's going on, and completes the repairs you approve — right where you're parked.
What is the $89 mobile service & diagnostic fee?
The $89 fee covers travel within our standard service area and the initial vehicle assessment. Any repairs beyond that are quoted separately and only performed with your approval.
Will I be charged for repairs on top of the $89?
Repairs are separate from the diagnostic fee and are always approved by you first. No additional repair work is performed without your approval.
What areas do you serve?
Richmond and the Tri-Cities — Colonial Heights, Petersburg, Hopewell, and Chester — plus surrounding Central Virginia communities. Not sure if you're covered? Check your area or call 804-973-7111.
What kinds of problems can you handle?
Diagnostics, no-start problems, brake service, battery and starting systems, engine repair, and general mobile auto repair. Not sure? Describe the symptoms and we'll tell you honestly whether we can help.
How do I pay, and can I cancel?
Payment is due when the work is complete; we'll confirm accepted payment methods when we schedule your appointment. Need to cancel or reschedule? Just call as early as you can — see our Payment & Cancellation Policy.

Payment & Cancellation Policy
Simple, transparent, and customer-friendly. Here's exactly how payment works.
Mobile Service & Diagnostic Fee
A flat $89 Mobile Service & Diagnostic Fee is required to schedule service. This fee covers travel within our standard service area and the initial vehicle assessment and diagnosis.
If your service location is outside our standard service area, any additional travel charge will be disclosed before your appointment is scheduled.
Repair Estimates & Approval
After diagnosing your vehicle, we'll explain what we found and provide an estimate for any recommended repairs.
No additional repair work without your approval.
Parts & Materials
Repairs that require parts or materials may require full payment for those parts and materials before they are ordered or installed.
Special-order parts and certain non-returnable parts must be paid for in full before they are ordered.
Any required parts payment or deposit will be clearly explained before you approve the repair.
Larger Repairs
For larger repairs or jobs that require significant labor, Agabi Brown Mobile Auto Repair may require:
- 100% of the cost of parts and materials, plus
- A deposit toward the estimated labor cost.
The required deposit will be disclosed in your repair estimate before work begins. No customer should be surprised by a deposit or additional charge.
Parts or a deposit may be required before repairs begin.
Final Payment
Unless otherwise stated in the approved estimate, the remaining balance is due upon completion of the approved work.
You'll receive a final invoice showing the completed work, parts and materials, labor, and any applicable charges.
Additional Work
If we discover additional problems during a repair, we stop and contact you first. We explain the additional work and cost and get your approval before proceeding.
We never automatically perform additional repairs or charge you without your authorization.
Cancellations & Rescheduling
Plans change. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please call 804-973-7111 as early as possible.
When you book, we'll confirm whether the $89 Mobile Service & Diagnostic Fee is refundable, transferable to a rescheduled appointment, or non-refundable once your technician has begun traveling to your location. There are no hidden or undisclosed cancellation charges.
